Pretty Object Time!

So as you may, or may not, notice, I have made a list of fashion related websites that I frequent. So today, since I am sitting here bored! I decided that I am going to do a piece on one of those websites.

I have a lot of fetishes, well not a lot, IDK. The list could go on and on if I gave it that attention, but for now, I will stick to what just pops up. First off, handbags! I love love purses, like no kidding. So, purses, shoes, and then the one that’s been climbing my list for awhile now is jewelry! I love accessories, as you can tell since handbags and shoes are at the top, but I never truly adored over jewelry. It started to develop later on when I was maybe in my pre-teen or early-teen years. I have always loved it, but the true appreciation came later on…
I forgot how I found out about this label, but I am sure glad that I did. I do remember though, that soon after that, I found out that some of their necklaces were featured on Gossip Girl, which I didn’t mind. What I absolutely love about them, is that their jewelry is very unique. Its not really like any other. I don’t know what it is about it, but I am really attracted towards the label and their jewelry.
I especially love their necklaces! That’s probably the first I look to when I look at accessories or jewelry labels/designers.

I really like their necklaces that have just normal daily items such as keys, clothespins, buttons, feathers, or paperclips. I believe it was the necklaces featuring those items that I fell in love and attracted me towards ALEX & CHLOE to begin with.
Some of their necklaces featuring some of the basic items I mentioned.

I do like more of their necklaces, way more! Buuuuut, I do have to get some sleep so I can’t put every single one up.

ex. oh. ex. oh.

So do you remember on Gossip Girl‘s first season, when Blair and  Serena took all the clothes from the “Eleanor Waldorf Collection” at the shoot and got in a cab to go to the water fountain at I believe in Central Park (correct me if I am wrong)? I think the episode was ‘Bad News Blair’. Now, do you remember the dresses they were wearing? That was the moment I fell in love with that dress.

After I saw that dress, I tried my hardest to find out who the designer was, so that I could find out where I can buy it. And of course, I couldn’t find anything. Not too long after that eppy, I got my TeenVOGUE mag, and it was one of those “A to Z” things. I believe L stood for Lorick? I was sooo super happy to find out this news, I immediately Googled Abigail Lorick and found the Lorick Barlass Dress on I believe revolveclothing. However, this dress that I fantasised myself running around in in NYC turned out to be a wee bit out of my budget.

I really just love this scene. Oh, B and S were good too.

More from the Lorick Spring 2008 collection.

I have recently been checking out the recent Lorick Spring 2009 collection, and it is delicious! I love all aspects of it. I love the forest green on some of the pieces, while others brought out the craving of French pastries in me. All of the pieces are really feminine, some having quite preppy touches. I really just love the whole collection and I wish I could buy it. Someday!

Some pieces from the Lorick Spring 2009 collection. Tea time?

You can find pieces from her current collection at Buy Definition online. I’m not sure about the store, but I found her clothes at the website. I found out about the store and website through Sea of Shoes. I’m not sure about other online retailers, but Buy Definition is where I have been checking out her stuff. Here is a whole list of online retailers and stores in your  area.

Let’s Catch Waves, Shall We?

Wavy hair!

Out of all the gene traits I did get from my mum, wavy hair was not one of them. She blessed me with thick hair, but held onto her wavy hair. It’s also something I have envied her for, her natural and gorgeous waves that just seem to fall perfectly into place.
I have tried to create that look before, but never has really come to look like that. Maybe I wasn’t doing it right, or my tequnique was all wrong.
But as of right now, I have really pretty, curly hair….
Yesterday, when we (mum, Mishael, and I) were at the mall killing off some time, the people here were cleaning the carpet, we stopped by one of those carts with the intention of me just getting my hair straightened for free; but, it apparently worked miracles!
The lady created these beautiful curls and waves for my hair that actually stayed. My mum and I were both impressed considering I have mostly had pros do my hair for more permanent results and even then the curls (done with curling iron or flat iron, not the rollers) didn’t stay for that long, may I also say they were neither that flattering.
My hair didn’t stink afterwards or wasn’t super stiff either. Mum decided to think about it a little bit before buying; but we have made our decision and will go back to buy it.
I know what you might be thinking- you just haven’t tried the right tools. Well, hate to break it to you, but yes, I have tried all sorts of tools, and I guess my hair is just special?
So I am right now, over-the-top happy!
I would take pictures, but our awesome digital camera is I think being shipped to be be cleaned because we got sand in it.

A Side of Shoulder Pads Please?

So as many of  you know, or don’t know, shoulder pads are coming back “in style,” as well as band jackets. Of course a lot more, but these are two that I guess I’m really attracted to. I’m not one to follow trends, neither am I someone who always gets caught up in them. If it’s in, great! if not, I still wear it with pride. Great pride

I still don’t go around in Harem pants, because well, let’s just not talk about that.
I do still like to see what’s happening, don’t get me wrong; but I don’t dictate what I wear totally by that. I buy what I like, quality in mind of course, and wear it. I do still buy things because they may be “in,” but once they are out, I don’t immediately throw it out. Ok, I think I know where I’m going with this… The Land of Babble. SO, let me get to the point.
Shoulder pads are back in style, and I like them.

I noticed a lot of 80′s style in Marc Jacobs ‘o9 Fall RTW. Which was all very cool, oh, and colourful! HA!
I know, I know I might be a little late in posting all of this. Better late than never, no?
———
My encounter with shoulder pads? Well, that happened in Texas. One day when I was hanging out with a friend, we went to Goodwill and that’s where the magic happened. She pointed me to this really nice red and white striped jacket with really pretty buttons (I like buttons, pretty ones of course. Let’s not forget unique). At first I was like eeeehhhh, but then I started to actually see the jacket. So of course, I bought it. And guess what!? It has some really great shoulder pads. It is a bit too big, technically, but I love it! I don’t really want to alter it or anything, because I think that’s what makes it the jacket it is on me. Oh, and it’s by Jones New York.
I also bought another piece that has shoulder pads. It’s a button down shirt with sailing-ish stuff on it like boats, and ropes, and those round life circle doughnut things. It’s also a really nice fabric, but I can’t exactly tell because all of the writing on the tag is in like Japanese or Chinese or something, can’t tell the difference. But I love it! Oh, and the same friend picked it out for me.

"Californiaaaaa, Californiaaaaa"

Sooo right now, at this very moment, I am exporting this blog onto my other WordPress blog. Let’s see how that goes, I think it will actually do it!

Here it is, everything IS hectic! Really.
I am trying to catch up on all my Bloglovin’ reading, but I guess because I’m exporting, the pages are loading slower, and I also have other tabs and windows open. So ehhhh….
I am also trying to catch up on all the fashion shows on style.com. Everything has just been so hectic here in California. But I made a commitment, and am willing to keep that commitment
Why is it that we commit to other things, and never keep them; but then when it comes to blogging, or lets say fashion blogging (or just fashion in general), we stress over that more than homework?
IDK….
Maybe because fashion is just more fun than homework. Hmmmm….. But why is that, are our priorities simply not on track? If instead we put a little more energy into our homework then blogging, then we would have the grades to get into that college. Orrrr, if we poured our hearts into our blogs, and they got recognized, would it better we have that on our resume or that person that recognized it and gave it that attention on our contacts list? Are you getting what I’m saying? It’s just something that has really been on my mind. It seems as if this situation can go both ways. Is there no right/wrong answer?
Something interesting to think about?

I have been watching The O.C. on SoapNet, and I guess I have started to get this “thing” for Mischa Barton. She’s sooo pretty, in my book. I used to follow her (on the internet and tabloids/mags that is), but somewhere along the way, I guess I stopped.

At Last!

So at last on Monday we got phone issues resolved. We were able to go and get it replaced, so I got a brand new phone. Well, actually it’s the same BlackJack II, but I got a new one. They seem to have made changes, positive ones. We also picked up the camera that we bought on Sunday from Best Buy. We did one of those pick-up in-store dealy-boppers, it was rathe cool and very, very simple. The camera is very cute! It’s a little Kodak EasyShare M1063 I believe. I guess a girl can have two loves–my Canon EOS Rebel K2 Film and the Kodak.

We got it in Purple. Made me want some sort of fruit drink or soda.

So now we have both problems solved, my phone and the digital camera.

So am still not sure whether to switch or not. Hmmmm…. If  I import, will my blogspot one still be there? That is my main concern. If you want regular posts on what I really want to write about, still read my blogspot one. I am just testing wordpress out at the moment, so I have to have some posts to truly determine whether I like it or not. HEHE

So Yesterday!

So Yesterday!

Note:: This was a draft I did a while ago. I just want to post it now for a test run.

The Story of MyTrip

So instead of writing the whole story and everything of the trip, why not link to my mum’s blog post since she wrote everything?

We took pictures of us at Venice, but let’s just say something happened to the camera. We are taking it to the camera shop tomorrow, so hopefully after that I can upload the pictures.
Hmmmmm….

Sweet Home Arizona

Currently we are driving through Phoenix, Arizona right now. Not exactly home, but for tonight, we will call it that. Tonight is the last night we have to stay at a hotel before California. Can anyone say whoot whoot!? However, the journey has not ended. Hmm…. What do I think of that?

More fun road trip!
I started the road trip out by reading the March 2009 Elle issue, which I liked. A lot! But I guess a girl can only take so much of gorgeous gowns and other dreamy things realizing that she can’t buy them immediately. *Sigh*
I did figure out though, that I like Elle magazine a lot more than American Vogue. Really. So I’m going to subscribe since I like Elle so so very much. Every time that I tried subscribing to American Vogue, I always had this little resistence thing going on, but with Elle, it was like yes! “Doit” as my friend Bridgette would say. So I will. I am also going to subscribe to Paris Vogue, lovely. I know, how did I EVER survive without Paris Vogue!? But the thing is, I didn’t. Neither do I know how I have survived without Elle. But I guess I have to put that into the past, and move forward by taking care of it.

A Midnight Rendezvous…

with the carrots that is. I’m eating some baby carrots. Yum Yum!

I just wanted to pop in and say hi! Today was a super busy day from the moment I woke up. It was packing day. Gosh, the idea of moving is getting more and more surreal by the minute. I can’t believe that I am leaving Tejas! It’s rather a bittersweet thing because my friends are here, but I sooo so want to move to NYC. I also want to visit Cali., which is what we are doing before we head out to NYC. I was just starting to make new friends, these amazing friends! But now I have to move away. But like I said, it’s really a bittersweet thing!
Hmmmm…. Anyhow, our house is not our house anymore. Everything is everywhere!
Goodness, it’s already 0:59! I gotta go sleep. I took a quick break from packing, and that led to something else, the internet!
Hopefully tomorrow I can do a better post, if I find the time.
